Summer 2006 - Part 2 - La Conner, Washington

2006-08-14: Minter Gardens

We had read that Minter Gardens rivaled Butchard Gardens in beauty so we decided to take the time before crossing back into Washington to check it out. We still think Butchard is far more beautiful.

2006-08-14: Waterfall

This waterfall with the flowers in front of it was a very attractive display. What you can't see is the wedding party sitting behind the waterfall.

2006-08-16: Berries

We were afraid we were going to be too late for blackberries but found that they were plump, ripe and ready for picking. Not only did we snack on them every night but we also made enough jam to last another year.

2006-08-25: Blue Heron

It's not often that we get to see blue herons up close but this one cooperated as I got my camera ready and in focus. The water was flat so I was able to get not only the heron but also his reflection.

2006-08-29: Another Sunset

Because our site overlooks the water, we have been enjoying sunsets every night. It amazes me that the colors are a little different each night.

2006-08-30: Smores

Like Chris when he was little, Noah loves to make new friends. He befriended the little girl in the space across from us and was invited to come for smores one evening. He didn't get to roast his own marshmellow but he sure enjoyed the smore!
