We made a stop at a cactus garden where Sergio educated us on the flora that abounds in this region. Here he is explaining how tequila is made from the agave cactus.

The blooms of this variety of organ pipe cactus were used by the Indians for combs.

Sergio knocked one of the "combs" off so we could touch it. It was prickly but he explained that the Indians removed the ends of the thorns prior to using it as a comb.

Our next stop was the docks in town to board our boat for a cruise along the shores of San Carlos. We got to see Indian Face Rock...
