From the rim, one has an incredible view of this unique caldera. The lake is some 1900 feet deep and has no inlets or outlets. It is completely fed by snow melt. The reflection in the morning while the water is still is an awesome sight.

We are in awe of this place. Luckily it's still early in the season and not overrun with tourists which makes lingering and enjoying the beauty much easier.

Sunset at Crater Lake was shaping up but the mosquitoes were getting the better of us. I held out as long as I could and did get this shot of Phantom Ship with a bit of color in the sky.
