2002-07-18: Avalanche River

We walked Trail of the Cedars which is a cedar forest which they estimate to be over 500 years old. The beautiful Avalanche River flows through the forest creating a most relaxing place to be.

Although the cedars were large, their root system was not deep.

2002-07-18: Avalanche Waterfall

The river cascading through the rocks created a beautiful waterfall with the sun just catching the spray. We learned that to qualify as a waterfall, the water must freefall at least 10 feet. If it doesn't then it is categorized as a cascade.
