Quick Trip East - Cape Cod

2002-09-20: Together Again

This trip to Connecticut was to be a sentimental journey for us. We began our two weeks in New England with a visit to Provincetown on the Cape to visit with Tryna's college friend Diane who owns and operates The Moors Motel. What fun it was to reconnect with Diane after not seeing one another for about 20 years.

We took the fast ferry across to Boston for the day so we could walk the Freedom Trail. It was a fun day.

2002-09-21: Quincy Markey

Quincy Market or Faneuil Hall was our starting point after we arrived. What a great place this is to have lunch, shop and people watch.

There were numerous street performers around Quincy Market. This juggler was not only good at juggling but was quite a comedian as well.

We toured Paul Revere's home and learned some interesting tidbits about his life and his ride. Did you know that he never really reached his destination on his famous ride and that he didn't even own a horse!!

Copp's Hill cemetery was indeed worth the time we spent there. It was really interesting reading the old headstones and linking people together.

2002-09-21: Do You Get It?

I couldn't resist taking a photo of this store. If you've ever been to Boston or talked to someone who is from the area you know that this is the way they pronounce "corner store". This shopkeeper certainly has a sense of humor.

2002-09-23: Balcony View

Our room at The Moors had a most spectacular view of the marsh. It was so clear which afforded us this view out toward the sea. Sitting on the balcony watching the birds and boats was so serene.

2002-09-23: Balcony View To The West

Toward the right as we sat enjoying the sun were some of the beautiful dunes that Cape Cod is known for.

2002-09-24: Provincetown

Being here reminded us a bit of our time in Nova Scotia. Maybe it was just the green buildings and the Atlantic! Provincetown is a neat little artist community. We even got to attend several openings with our friends. What fun.
