2004-07-07: Petty Creek Canyon

We found this old barn along a great road through Petty Creek Canyon. The number of ranches along this road amazed us. We found one for sale for $800,000 that included a beautiful home (5000 sq. ft) on 20 acres of land. The road isn't paved so we're going to pass!

We arrived at Little Diamond Campground to discover we were in for a treat. The campground was hosting the Washington Civil War Association for the weekend. We experienced the Infantry morning parade, inspection and drill first thing Saturday morning.

2004-07-10: Night Skirmish

Another skirmish took place at dusk. It was certainly fun to watch the action at this time of day. The rifles seemed to be louder, the smoke created a haze in the area and the screams as the soldiers went down seemed to echo through the valley. The south were the victors this time.
