2001-07-02: Virgin River Gorge

As we traveled through a short stretch of Route 15 through Arizona, we came through the Virgin River Gorge. What a sight of red rock formation!

A natural rock slide formed over time. I will take a photo of this incredible sight but I am sure not going to slide down it!

2002-07-08: feet again

Driving from Bend to eastern Oregon took us through the Ochoco National Forest, a beautifully wooded area.

We got to see out the front, the sides and the top since we were in sort of a convertible. What a way to go!

2002-07-23: Wenatchee River

We climbed out of the flat lands of eastern Washington and into the mountains. We followed the Wenatchee River making our way to the little Bavarian town of Leavenworth where we would spend a few days.

2002-07-31: The Ride Over

The ferry ride from Anacortes to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island takes about 1-1/2 hours and takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in this area. The water is a beautiful blue, the boats are wonderful to watch and the islands themselves are gorgeous.

2002-08-08: Ready for the Oil Extractor

This wheelbarrowful of lavender is destined for the oil extractor. It was extremely interesting learning about how the oil was extracted from the flowers and to smell some of the oil just after it was removed.

2002-08-22: Jet Boat Trip

Our group aboard the jet boat we took 22 miles up the Klamath River. Seeing the wilderness area of the Klamath was wonderful.
