2008-06-03: St. Knut Domkirke
|
St. Knut was a Ruthless Tyrant from 1080 - 1086 but was then named the patron Saint of Denmark. Here in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark, was the cathedral named in his honor.

A bunch of us ended up eating lunch in this neat little bakery in Odense - as I looked around I realized that Al had this lunch with his harem!

|
Odense is the quaint but lively capital of Funen. This section of town is under a preservation order that means that the cobblestone streets and original old homes will be preserved forever for us to enjoy.

|
Here in Old Odense we find the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson who remains quite a celebrity here in Denmark. There was a wonderful little museum that is devoted to the writer's life and houses manuscripts and other personal belongings.
