The city is the base for oil exploration in the North Sea. It's harbor houses many beautiful pleasure boats that people here use like second homes.

This section of town, called Gamle Stavanger or Old Stavanger is one of the most coveted places to live in town. Its cobbled streets and old, quaint homes are a delight to see.
