City Hall majestically overlooks Lake Malaren, the largest lake in Sweden. Gold leaf tiles adorn the walls of the Golden Hall, the venue of the annual Nobel Prize banquet.

2008-06-13: Nobel Banquet

The Golden Hall can seat some 1000 people which will accommodate the 12 guests that each person who is presented with this prestigious award is allowed to bring. This is a sample of the beautiful china and crystal that is used each December 10th.

In one of the narrow lanes is the hidden treasure of Stockholm. Here a miniature statue of a little boy stands signifying the orphans of the city. It is said that rubbing his head will bring luck.
