The Beguinage and Gardens were built in the 13th century and was once the home of the Beguine religious movement. It is currently a monastery for Benedictine sisters.

There are chocolate shops everywhere. We saw chocolate roosters like this one, chocolates that looked like walnut halves and even a porno chocolate shop!

2009-04-21: Our Lady's Church
|
This sculpture of Madonna by Michelangelo is housed in Our Lady's Church. It is from 1504-05 and made of carrara marble. Most of Michelangelo's work can be found in Italy. This piece was brought to Brugge by the Mouscron family.
