Included in opening ceremonies was the parade of flags. California was represented by our state president Augie from our chapter along with members of four other California chapters. They looked great as they marched in wearing their chapter shirts.

Tryna has been the webmaster for the chapter website for years. We were thrilled when our website was recognized nationally with a first place award this year.

Tuesday is state row party day. Each state sets up a table with foods and goodies that are particular to their state. This year we served California wine, almonds and belly flops. As you can see, there was a line-up to be served.

We had close to 40 people attend the California Pizza Party. Funny story, when we asked a few teens in town where to get the best pizza, their reply was Casey's. For those of you who don't know, Casey's in a gas station/convenience store with a pizza place in it. We were shocked at how good the pizza was! You never know in a small town!

Just as we finished our pizza, some 50 or so classic cars came cruising down the boulevard. Talk about a flash into the past. Following that, we continued down memory lane as we were entertained by original Beach Boy David Marks who tours with the Surf City Allstars. The band also included Al Jardine's (another original Beach Boy) son.

Our chapter assisted the cook-off committee by cutting and serving the delectable foodstuffs prepared by four different states in the GNR cook-off. Lorraine and Tryna were going to be doing the cutting and had their own pirate duel prior to starting.
