2001-08-21: Byward Market
In the Byward Market, all produce offered for sale must be grown in and around the Ottawa area. It was wonderful walking around and seeing unique, fresh produce. We bought some ground cherries which looked like tomatillos but taste like a cross between a kiwi and a tomato. The vendors have permanent stalls and are there 7 days a week. It reminded us somewhat of the LA Farmers Market.

2001-08-21: National Art Museum
When we returned to the Art Museum a second time, we got to view works by such artists as Gainsborough, Chagall, Picasso, Van Gogh, and Monet to name a few. It was much more fun seeing things by artists I was familiar with. We also visited the restored chapel in the gallery and heard a 40 voice choir singing (40 speakers were placed around the room-one for each voice as we sat in the middle). It was awesome!
