2001-08-28: Enrage Lighthouse
Traveling scenic route 114 from Sussex we came upon the Enrage Lighthouse and Keepers House. This is the oldest lighthouse site in New Brunswick. The Keepers House was saved from demolition by 6 high school students who took it upon themselves to raise money and fix up the facility. Today the lunch room is run by local high school and university students. We had some great fish chowder here.

2001-08-28: Fossil Beach
This was the beach on the lighthouse property. Most rocks you picked up had fossils in them.

2001-08-28: Hopewell Rocks
This area on the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. The rush of water have gouged four-story sculptures from the cliffs. Shown here at low tide, they look a lot like flower pots while at high tide they appear to be little tree topped islands. It was fun walking on the ocean floor and gazing up at these incredible sculptures.

2001-08-28: Cool, cool water
While on the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks, Tryna couldn't resist wading a little. The water was cold and the rocks hurt her tootsies.

2001-08-28: Westside One Room Schoolhouse
No back road would be complete without a one room schoolhouse. Notice the two doors - one for girls and one for boys. Also notice the outhouse in the back! We couldn't get away with that now!

2001-08-28: Covered Bridges Abound
There are many covered bridges in this area. Some you can still drive through and some are now blocked to traffic. This is the Sawmill Creek Bridge which was built in 1905 and is 30 meters long. The sign says "Walk your horse and save a fine." It is now closed to traffic but we decided to post it because we liked the flag of New Brunswick flying on it. Needless to say, we took many covered bridge photos but we're only going to post this one today.
