2001-09-17: Ocean View
Although we aren't right on the ocean, this is the view from our front window. We love to watch the tides change from our coach.

2001-09-17: Acadia National Park
Acadia is a small but powerful park. There are long stretches of rocky shoreline, rounded mountains, lakes, ponds and woodlands. Pictures really can't tell the story of what we saw here today but we'll give it a try. This shot was taken from an area called Otter Cliffs.

2001-09-17: Sand Beach
We walked down to this wonderful sand beach. Although the water was cold (between 50-60 degrees), Tryna had to go wading for a little while anyway. As you can see, the weather is certainly cooperating with us.

2001-09-17: Jordon Pond
This is a view of Jordon Pond with Bubble Mountains in the background. These rounded mountains, which actually look like two big bubbles, are the result of glacial activity.

2001-09-17: Eagle Lake
As we look at the trees, we are definitely beginning to see signs of fall. Some of the leaves are a brilliant red color already. We're not sure how well this photo will bring the colors to you, but we'll try. We are thrilled to be experiencing autumn in New England once again.

2001-09-17: Cadillac Mountain
Driving to the summit of Cadillac Mountain (1,530 feet - the highest point along the Atlantic coast) gave us an opportunity to view the area from all angles. Words can't even begin to describe what we saw from this incredible vantage point.

2001-09-17: Glacial Erratic
Here is Tryna at the summit of Cadillac Mountain leaning on a glacial erratic. A melting glacier deposited this coarse-grained granite boulder after carrying it for miles. It probably weighs some 11-14 tons.
