Our First Trip - The Moose Quest Continues

2001-09-20: New Hampshire Warning

As we entered the White Mountain region of New Hampshire we were greeted by signs telling us to brake for moose and that there had been hundreds of collisions. Needless to say, Tryna is once again feeling the call of the moose.

2001-09-20: White Mountains

The White Mountains of New Hampshire are beautiful. Even though we've had pouring rain and it was still drizzly and misty when we took our car tour, the panoramas we saw were incredible. The reds and yellows of the leaves also help to complete this wonderful picture.

2001-09-20: Moose Print

We pulled off the road to take in the surrounding beauty and what did we find but moose prints! And new ones too! But alas, we couldn't find the owner of the prints - too sad.

2001-09-21: Covered Bridge NH Style

We accidentally made a wrong turn in the village of Conway and ended up driving across this covered bridge. Sometimes wrong turns a good turns. The bridge, which crossed the Saco River is 224 feet long and was built in 1890. In case you're wondering, that's Toady on the dash of the car.

2001-09-22: Swift River

We had been paralleling the Swift River for a while so we decided to walk to the river's edge and have a look. It was gorgeous with the small rapids and the brilliant colors in the trees. I wish I could bottle this and bring it home with me.

2001-09-22: Another Moose Trail

On good authority, we took a drive down a dirt road to a boggy area where we were assured that we would see a moose. The road was covered with a canopy of trees some of which were changing color. It was such a nice drive. We parked by the bog (along with some other cars) and waited for dusk to fall. Our gut feeling told us tonight was the night...

2001-09-22: Does This Count?

We never did see a moose in the bog but here is one on the floor of our motorhome
